Moxie is a renascence bulldogge. I spent 6 months deciding what breed I wanted. I finally found this breed and there temperament is amazing. As you can see she has a body muscular like a pit bull, but her muzzle is a little more bully than most pits.
My friend Chadde created this breed by using mostly AB and some Old English Bulldog lines. In his opinion the Old English Bulldogs were too docile and the ABs they were registered did not have the consistency in breeding he preferred. So after 20 years of breeding/cross breeding he finally developed a dog great with family that still was able to be a real work dog. (Most English type bulldogs can not work due to breathing problems, bad backs, etc..
Chadde had a few dogs going to these "Boot camps" at a place called Red Star, in Wisconsin. I had a 3 month deployment coming up and decided to have her to there while I was out to sea for 3 months. The first 2 months are obedience and advanced obedience (off leash). After that training they test the dogs temperament for Personal Protection work. She did great with it.
When I got back from deployment, I went to Red Star for 2 weeks, learning the commands. and obedience exercises. When I got back to Italy, I worked with the MWD's on my off time. I would be there decoy (guy in bite suite) and they would do scenarios for me also.
The biggest difference between the MWD's and mine is I did not have an attack command. Also, they had a command for the dog to escort me back to them. That was pretty cool. My dog was trained to protect from aggressive threats. I actually got a dog training certification before getting out of the Navy.

She was a great dog. Great with people, other dogs, and kids. Unfortunately when I started driving for a living, I could not bring her with me. She now lives with a friend of a friend in Fl with 2 other dogs.

Those AB's have great jaw strength. The belgian malinois hit the hardest on impact I think though. They are more athletic than AB's and GSD's, but they are crazy quick. There bite was not as powerful, but they slam into you real hard because they are so fast.

That is awesome you got to be a decoy also Bravo.

Just wearing a bite sleeve with a malinois MWD was a workout enough. I could imagine working in the full suit lol.

How much does training like that run subwolf? sux you cant keep her any more.

Also, since I know you're sorta looking for work why not try putting that dog training cert to work? Doesn't neccisarly have to be LEO work but I know search and rescue teams, certain security work, FEMA, and cadaver dogs are all decent paying gigs.

That's a good point. For me in 2005 it was $4,500. Included was the obedience, advanced obedience, and the personal protection training, plus boarding. The whole boot camp was 3 months.
I am going to start looking into that. I may be limited due to my recent back surgery. But I should definitely be able to do obedience training until my back is strong enough for decoy work. I will definitely be looking into that.
