Re: Go Pro camera
Go Pros are awesome!!!
More than I expected
I love mine... I was able to pick my Hero 3+ for just under $250 from Best Buy as an open box/return item... Guess I was looking in the right place at the right time.
You can't go wrong with one of these things.
Here is a video that I shot with my Go Pro of my trip out to Glamis over the Halloween weekend

Re: Go Pro camera
I've been thinking about getting.
I use to have a miniHD flip and used it a lot.
Will probably pick one up soon.

It's a great camera for basic needs. The price can be a little deceptive though. $250 for the camera but you really need a few accessories to use it properly. Some kind of handle, a extending handle, and a small tripod.

Have you considered the Garmin Virb elite? Can overlay gps, speed, heart rate, altitude and track info on the video feed. Awesome for action shooting. Water proof out of the box and compatable with most mounts.
The record switch looks easier to use than the go pro too.
Once I get my tax return back I plan on getting one.

Re: Go Pro camera
Glad this thread came along. I was literally, just about 4 days away from dumping money on a Nikon CoolPixs L820 with the purpose of mostly video and a few pictures.
After looking up this Go Pro camera....completely changed my mind. That thing is awesome. Water-proof, mounts to anything, much slimmer looking design. A bit less noticeable for thieves, in terms of flashyness.

Re: Go Pro camera
I spoke to early. I must of been high on motivation and caffeine. I took a very long look at gopros. I'm leaving the country for a month of backpacking and really needed and all-environment friendly camera. Which the go-pro easily meets those requirements.
But after reading tons of reviews, it was price, constant fisheye, and sound quality when enclosed in the casing. It was more of an action camera than I needed. There was also an internal error that sometimes occurred.
I didn't need an "action cam", but just a good high-def handheld camera for "normal" video.
I went with an Olympus 830, waterproof, shockproof, freezeproof, dustproof camera that films in 1080p.
