Fedoras...yay or nay?
Wore one with a Halloween costume this year. Thinking of picking up a gray one. Any thoughts?

i have a few. went through a stage where i wore them a lot, not so much anymore, but i always got a good reaction. just not really fitting in with the style i go for right now. but i think they're great. definitely pick a few up and try them out and see what results you get. i have worn black, brown, grey and white. it can be a good peacocking accesory and work well, if it works with whatever else you're wearing and the look you are portraying...

Re: Fedoras...yay or nay?
I spend too much time on my hair to go the fedora route, but a buddy of mine that wears a fedora has sets that open him up by complimenting his hat. It's extra attention just because it's a bit unusual for anyone to wear one; people will take notice... and you'll look sharp!
However, maybe someone can back me up on this, I have a theory that looking super slick and peacocking out might not work to ones advantage sometimes. So, if you wear one, perhaps be selective about the occasion.

I bought one when I went to LA last month and have gotten great feedback. Living in Iowa, people tend to be a little behind on style. I definitely stand out at the bar. The other thing is women routinely give compliments for wearing it as well as open me up.
When I'm in set I'll let my target wear the hat but then usually throw some cocky funny banter, "like the hat looks good on you but it looks way better on me."
I'll also add that I've talked to guys who admitted they own one but didn't have the confidence to wear one out.

Had a white one with a black band. Wore it with jeans and a black/white stripped shirt and a skinny blue tie. People loved the outfit as a whole, but the fedora got the compliments (and the tie).
Women loved it, guys hated it. Welcome to Nebraska where guys consider a polo a dress up shirt.

I have a pretty sweet one I just bought from H&M, it's dark gray with a thin black band around it. I haven't worn it out yet though, I need to soon.
