Hey all!
It's been a little bit since I posted, but MAN! Do I have a turn around story of a lifetime to tell everyone! I have to say, I've never been very clear about what I should do with my life. But this is the clearest that I have ever been! I'll get on with my story.
As you all know, I was going through a funk for awhile. I had self image problems and lots of problems with direction in my life. I had lost my job and my inner confidence was just shattered.
I had spoken to Brock for awhile and after I lost my job, we sort of stopped speaking (Sorry Brock!!!). I spent a lot of time researching my business and taking more time writing my business plan and getting everything ready to go because, well... I didn't have a job. So I had to get SOMETHING.
After getting the business plan written and doing some self marketing, I stumbled across a contractor recruiter who put me in touch with two of the biggest companies in Atlanta - Dell and Coca Cola. After laying down some great marketing and going through several processes, I landed my business's first professional contract of providing Technical Assistance in IT for Dell at Coca Cola. But it doesn't end there!
To celebrate my new contracts, for Thanksgiving, I went to visit family in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. I spent the holiday and the weekend at my dad's house there with him and my sister and her family (more on this later!). We had a great time and as I was driving back to Atlanta, an immigrant girlfriend I had awhile back contacted me again. We ended our relationship because she had move back to the Philippines after her Visa ran out. Turns out, she's back in the US and gaining her citizenship and wanted to restart our relationship. I accepted and that will merge into the second part of my story.
The contract I have with Dell and Coca Cola is only 3 months long. 3 months is a critical time length for Mea and I. 3 months is when my lease expires in my current complex. I have been wanting to get out of Atlanta for some time and this is giving me a reason. I want to go to Orlando because my sister's family is here. Mea wants to go to Orlando because her sister's here. But what about my business?
My business provides a service that, according to several professionals that I have been introduced to while I've been down here for Christmas, is extremely lacking here in Orlando. I have been told that if I provide this service and my business is here, I would have exponential growth. According to my own research, I would have quite a bit more than exponential growth! More like a BOOM! Not only that, but if Dell decides that they would like to retain my contract, I would have the ability to continue with them as well while still providing a critical service to industries and businesses here in Orlando.
So in March-April time frame, I will be able to move to Orlando with my girlfriend, expand my business, and be closer to my family! Talk about a complete 180 degree turn from where I was! I owe Bravo and Brock and all of you so much thanks for everything you guys have done for me. I think if I didn't have you guys talking to me and pressing me forward, this wouldn't have happened.
Wow! Complete 180!

Great to hear that!! Keep moving forward. Don't stop improving yourself just because you are in a relationship. The skills learned in pick up apply to all aspects of your life. Congratulations again.
