Yeah true, most times I wen't into flash chat on SLA it was dead. It was nice to get a quick answer on something if you needed it though. A shout box is a good idea I think, similar concept to what I would be looking to get out of flash chat.

I think this fast chat idea would be cool, you never know maybe you need a fast answer or just some help and there could be someone there. I have been on forums were they have thousands yet there ain't no one on it, maybe make it like an autofunction?(yes noob)

I have used a shotubox on a few other forums, we normally put them at the top.

It is a really cool idea because it allows members to chat in realtime rather than wait for them to reply to topics BUT it can get messy if the forum is really busy, you can also get a lot of spammers and have to many conversations going at once.

A shoutbox would be cool. Agreed it can get hectic, but for our forum size I think it could work.

a thread titled something like RIGHT NOW, and it is just a thread we treat like a shout box, and it always has to do with something that time matters on- until

we now have a chat room!

may I suggest something along the lines of an "Alpha Labs"?

Pickup Labs was so much fun last year. But so far its been pretty dismal

Really nice would be a best of section. Links to great tutorials / guides. It would help to find the good stuff faster
