Accutane works well for really bad acne. Accutane is a very strong drug that will help clear up your face but also may have some side effects like drying up your lips. If you have a Dermatologist, he can give you an ointment to use for your lips if they dry up from the side effects of the medication.

Antiobiotics like Doryx also work well and can help keep your acne away. I also suggest using a face wash every day like Neutrogena Oil- Free Acne Wash. Their are also some pretty good acne creams that you can apply at night before sleeping like Benzaclin.

I used to have terrible acne then I went on accutane my face cleared up completely within two weeks and now I barely keep any and I haven't taken the medicine for almost 5 years. Talk to a dermatologist. Getting rid of acne raises your confidence sooo much.

My acne is in way better shape now. I've been using a combination of things, but mainly the 3 step process by Clinique (bought at Macy's). I think the most important thing is to talk with the person who sells acne medicine & make sure you know HOW to use it properly.

Basically what I follow: Keep your face clean & oil free. Clean face with soap, then put on moisturizer. Buy something more potent to apply to bad spots.

I tried everything including going to two different dermatologists, retina, differen, proactive... But in the end it was the men's soap from clinique that worked for me.
