Does chewing gum improve your image?

Post by Syrrah »

Maybe relevant, but mostly just funny. They take identical twins, dress them the same, give one a stick of gum, and then have people answer questions about them...

"Which one seems like he has more friends?"
"Which one has more imaginary friends?"

"Which one gets invited to more parties?"
"Which one gets invited to more bridge tournaments?"

Disclaimer: I know... there's plenty to rip apart here. They're going for a desired outcome, and you can see it in the way they phrase and order their questions, and in what kind of questions they ask and what kind of questions they don't. I wanted to be the first to say it. Still, the video is pretty funny, and gives you some stuff to think about.

So the twins on the left had a serious face. The ones on the right chewing gum were smiling with eyes and mouth when chewing.

If the twins on the left were smiling, I would think there would be a different outcome.

I don't recommend chewing gum when talking to girls and people in general. Some people that do look like slack jawed faggots.

I don't suggest it, if you want a mouth feel without looking really dumb, flavored toothpicks are better than gum in my opinion.

I'm not a fan of anyone chewing gum. I'm not sure why but it seems douchey and I can't take anyone seriously who is chewing. Maybe it's because it looks like they're talking with their mouth full which is a major pet peeve? I dunno but I'm with Ice, I don't think it's a good idea.

Wouldn't feel that gum would be a big enough icebreaker over solid game

Also, if a chick was chewing gum while talking to me I'd call her out on it. Doesn't seem like very good manners unless you happen to be seeing a chick in the street and HAVE to stop her.
