Hey Smoothcall,

When I'm talking to a girl in a bar and that I opened indirect/situational, would you ever recommend asking "do you have a boyfriend" as a statement of intent once you get into qualification/comfort? I can see it being a good SOI that can transition into some jokes, but I can also see it closing some doors if the attraction isn't high enough. What are your thoughts?

I generally let her bring it up. If she has one, reminding her of it is usually a way to make her feel guilty and slutty for flirting with you.

But maybe it works for you. If so, do it.

Alright, I'll play around with it but lean on the side of leaving it out.

One more question since it's pretty quiet tonight...

I sometimes meet girls in line waiting for the bar. Let's say it's just me, and I open up a group of 4 girls behind me. It's going well, I pick out a target and start talking to her one on one. The friends get the hint and talk amongst themselves, i'm talking with my target.

1) What should I do if the line is not moving and I'm already getting deep into comfort. I can't get the number and eject. I can't escalate because her friends (and the whole line) are watching. What would be a good course of action?

2)What should I do if we get in around the time I am in comfort. Do I stay with them and keep going? Break it off and re-engage later? What stage would I go to if I re-engage? Back into comfort?

Any advice would be appreciated.

I bet you're going into comfort too soon, first off. Consider if you are waiting in line that you have one set in front of you and another in the behind you. After a time, open the other set and try to merge them. If you time it right, you can end up with a set of guys on one side and girls on the other and they would probably love to meet each other.

A guy I used to go out with would sometimes open female sets two or three groups in front of us and sometimes would actually get them to move back in the line to hang with us. And he did it totally direct too. He would be like, "Hey, you girls--yes, you with the hat--what are you doing up there? Come back here and talk to us." Crazy, but it often worked.

Hey, that's a really interesting idea, I never thought of it that way.

Thanks for the tips Smoothcall, I'll try to work them in.
