DJNinja & Ice's LIve Coaching Thread 8-8-13 - DONE!

Post by DJNinja »

Thank you to all who dropped by and lurked, and to monteray and ricardosuavez for asking some great questions! You made this inaugural Live Coaching Thread awesome! We hope to see more questions from all of you next week!

Look for the official thread sometime next week, when once again Ice & I will answer your questions and help you beat your sticking points!

Thanks again!

DJNinja & Ice

====================

We're breaking new ground tonight, and you're a part of it. With the success of Bravo and Steve P's recent AMA's (Ask Me Anything's), we're trying out a new format of flashchat, one that is more accessible, more available, and more convenient to you!

Instead of using the traditional flashchat client, you are here, in this thread, posting your questions, and starting at 6pm Pacific/9pm Eastern tonight, Ice and I will be answering your questions!

No need to worry about being at a computer with Flash software; all you need is an Internet connection and access to the forum to post. Do it from the beach on your iPad! And if you miss the Q&A, you can still read other people's questions and our answers later on. So win for you!

Some ground rules:
  • Questions are first come, first serve. We'll get to as many questions as we can, so it serves to benefit you to post your question early!
  • If you are responding to something another posted, just make sure to QUOTE them so it is easy for everyone to follow. How do you quote? By clicking the word QUOTE at the upper right of the post you are quoting.
  • To see if this thread has been updated, just hit refresh in your browser (usually in the upper left of Chrome/Firefox/IE/Safari/etc., or the shortcut on your keyboard [Ctrl+R on a PC and cmmand R on Mac]). You can also click SUBSCRIBE at the bottom of this page to subscribe to the thread. So you get emailed when there is a new post since the last time you visited it.
  • Lastly, PLEASE use the return button and use paragraphs, so it is easy to read.
Bravo, Ice, and I are excited about the new directions we're taking this and look forward to helping you achieve your goals and break through your sticking points!

Morning Lads,

Thanks again for last week you guys really had me pumped to get out...

I'm going out tonight (friday in Australia now), probably solo. anyway my question is:

I'm still struggling to transition into my dhv stories... and I think this is because I am getting thrown off if the reaction is not that good to my opener, or the reaction wasn't what I expected. Do you think this is because I still need more practice opening or I just need to keep pushing until I feel more comfortable?
this is for both indirect and direct situations

Great question!

You're doing very well with making approaches and going in-field, so kudos to you on that. Very happy that you're going in-field tonight and not making excuses!

The next step is keep pushing out of your comfort zone and work on those transitions. Part of being in-field is to discover every reaction that girls will have to your routine stack. Like you said, it feels uncomfortable at first because you're not used to it, but keep at it and soon it will be comfortable!

You're on the right track, got momentum on your side, so keep being awesome and doing what you do, and of course, post FRs about your adventures to get feedback from us and others to help you get better!

Hey guys,

My question is: How do you, or can you, DHV without telling stories?

I'm not a good story teller and for the most part i don't really have good stories to share. So what other ways can you DHV?

Thanks for your help

You're very welcome! Thank you for the awesome question!

As you get into this, you'll start to realise that your life is full of many amazing stories! You simply have to realise it, and the more you're in field, the sooner you'll realise them. When I got into this, I didn't think I was a good storyteller either, but then eventually I started to note that I had stories for different occasions, and it was simply a matter of dialing those stories in to highlight the DHVs and downplay the DLVs.

TL;DR: Your life already has awesome stories, it's just a matter of realising them. Do that by going in-field more. And you can also go out and do cool stuff to enrich your life ;)

As for your current situation, there are ways to Demonstrate Value without stories. Those include
  • Cold reads (The Cube, Rings Routine, etc.)
  • Magic (look up "Scam School" on youtube for some great easy to learn magic tricks and bar games)
  • Teasing & Push-Pull (shows that you're fun and not putting girls on a pedestal)
  • Social Proof/Preselection (going out with a group of hot girls and/or fun friends - shows that you're socially intelligent and cool)
  • Demonstrating skill & expertise (foreign language, musical instrument, singing/karaoke, dancing [especially salsa dancing], etc)
There's more, but these are great starts!

learn to move the conversation forward and hold your own as you encounter these reactions

know your intentions going in a conversation. If it is to compliment them on being sexy, do it

DJ gave you good advice. I also like to look at it as - You are the DHV

How you communicate verbally and non-verbals. How influential you storytell and converse with people, how comfortable you are in your own skin (body posture, smile, etc)

@ DJ Ninja & Ice

Thank you both for your help!

I was going to ask another question about how can I DHV outside of just telling stories, and you guys both answered that already.
