Im seeing a video on kali training, looks really intense. So basically, it's a mixture of everything in one fighting style  . I..I can be the unlitmate fighting machine :D . Nah but really, its looks like something I may try in, lets say Aug. -JB

Bravo, are there any exercises which I can do to train my OODA?

Also, what if you get into a fight when you're intoxicated?

1. dont get into fights while intoxicated

2. handle your liquor, and dont get drunk in the first place! (or only do so at small get togethers)

3. ANY training that forces you to be in the moment and act/react is good OODA training- martial arts, paintball, surfing, riding a motorcycle= etc

:)

The biggest thing that helped my OODA loop was when a flight instructor told me to always think: "what's the next step"? Basically briefing yourself on what you have to do next and planning out the steps in your mind. Then compare what your doing to your mental plan and make adjustments as necessary.

Most of the time things are really easy and are almost automatic after that. If shit hits the fan, you've got a response or something to adapt off of. Often you avoid shit hitting the fan in the first place by being organized and on top of things. (ex. not getting drunk in the first place as Bravo said.)

There's a great book by astronaut Chris Hadfield where he talks about their training. They always ask themselves "what could kill me next?"

OODA loop at it's finest.
Who dares wins.

maybe 2 of the air force pilots who have been to PX can chime in too

I would also read up on the OODA loop on wikipedia

I also read Col John Boyd's biography

and lastly, this AMAZING PDF by Navy SEAL Ken Good- the first guy I heard it from
