Re: Forum Rank
I know some schools that you wont even get a blue belt at if you havent competed well.
Also getting a blue from someone in the states wouldnt really compare to say a blue from ATT or Gracie Baja.
It really comes down to ability. In BJJ I have no rank but no gi have tapped browns and MMA have beat the shit out of a black belt.
How that relates to pick up though? Steal someones target? Lol,then make her tap?

Re: Forum Rank
so the difference between black and grey is that a black belt is mastery of "Bravo-fu", and the grey belt is mastery in some other school of pickup (Strauss-fu, etc)?
The only shot you're sure to miss is the one you don't take.

close
a black belt in judo or jujitsu doesn't get to walk in and get handled a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu school, they can still kick ass, but it's different
I am only going to give black belts out to guys I have worked with, and have earned their stripes HERE or with me. That doesn't mean they are carbon copies of me, they can have a totally different style, just like the current BROWN BELTS do.
So it is a way to show and give respect to those who deserve it and who are cool enough to help guys out around here
