Style Baseline....Pics included

Post by Aries »

Hey Bravohooder's,
The holiday season is here, which means gifts of cash, clothes, or the universal gift card ! Due to the increase in capital, I'm upgrading my style

However, first I'm creating a baseline of where my fashion style is...

Use the following questions and any other tips you guys have to evalute my style, as I evalute my style

What kind of tribe do I belong ? What kind of vibe am I giving off? and not giving off? Do I need to GTL ? Is the peacocking enough? Am I dressing my body type well...

I am aiming for the Rebellious Billionaire playboy look (Act as if ) thats got a deep side...

Without further a due: ARIES!

First off, both pics are only your upper body, so we can't see how you are finishing off these outfits. Are you wearing dress shoes or sneakers? Are you wearing jeans or dress pants? Do your pants fit you? Does the look work as a whole? These are questions I can't answer...

What I will say is that you are obviously a young guy. I could tell that before I saw the Xs on your hands on the second picture. It seems to me that you are trying to be too dressy for being so young, which strikes me as a bit incongruent, so you may want to put some thought in to re-evaluating your avatar.

Also, I wrote an in-debth article on style here, so check this out...

I agree with NSM...we need a more all-inclusive shot to really see how it all works together...

His point on incongruence is also spot on...assuming you're under 21 as the X suggests, I don't know many teenagers that dress that way...you mentioned the 'rebellious billionaire playboy' look...it can be tough to pull that off as a younger guy and, frankly, girls that age aren't necessarily looking for that...

Your attitude/personality play a big part on whether you can pull off that style too...if you're the life of the party and have a very outgoing/social vibe then its doable..if you're more of a wallflower i'd personally steer clear...

You don't look like a huge guy so my suggestion would be to dress for your body type...it looks like you're already on that track, but spend some time in the gym and get that tapered V-look...you don't have to be huge, but if you combine that with a nice 'fitted' type of shirt (Express, etc.) the ladies will definitely take notice...accentuate your assets and distract from the things you aren't as fond of...

Just my .02

Send some full shots and reply to our comments and we'll try to help more.
You can't fail if you don't try...but you can't succeed that way either...

Push the envelope...watch it bend...

@NSM and Epicc
The incongruence is spot on Epicc is right when he says Dress shirts fit my body type well. I'm the life of the party, Therefore I like to be loud . However I'm looking for a powerful style, maybe I'll try on the body tight T shirt look Neil described in the game on Tom Cruise "to accentuate " my V more.
I'll take full shots when I'm trying stuff on this week to get a feel for what works and what doesn't

I think wearing a tie to the bar is too formal for a guy your age. Go with a fitted shirt with colors that work for your skin tone or a blazer/graphic t combo. When you shop don't be afraid to ask for people's opinions. If you think that the salesman is just after a commission ask people (preferably attractive women) who are also shopping. Girls love solid shirts that go with your skin tone and the blazer/graphic t combo.

Shoes etc are important so to be truly effective, you need pics of everything. A nice watch is a great addition and often times a convo speech.
