Can anyone give me some recommendations on an inexpensive handgun. I had something happen that I feel jeopardizes my and my roommates safety and want to pick up a reliable gun incase anything comes of this situation, I have a plethora of knives and other hand to hand weapons however bringing a knife to a gun fight is IMO not the best idea.
Thanks,
Andy

If you are in Ca I think there is a waiting period, so would go down to a gun shop and start the ball rolling ASAP

why would the police make it worse?
even if they are incompetent, at least having a paper trail on your side is a GOOD thing

Re: Acquiring a First Handgun
I am fairly sure the guy knows where I live and I have no real evidence for him stalking me. If I call the police they may go talk to him but there is no way they are going to arrest him and I don't want to have the cops just go over and incense him farther. So I figure the best thing I can do is arm myself and hope I don't have to use it.
