Pimping the Crib, the new house of fro

Post by FRO »

First off its great to be back on the forum, after two weeks of moving and getting stuff situated and shit, the house of Fro is up and running :D . Got pics up from the place to give you guys of what I’m working with. Figured this type of thread should be under Style and Fashion, since our pad is a part of our style. I know this place has more work that needs to be done before it’s finish but this is a good start to it. Took advice from Bandit9490 and Cupid when I was setting the place up. Thanks for the help guys. Will have side notes for each pic to give you guys a better idea of what I was thinking. Rip me a part, critique me, or give me props. Looking forward to reading your advice and learning from it. Let me know if I need to retake the pics.

THE KITCHEN:

The mirror on the table will be hanged up in the foyer area.

Foyer:

The boxes are being sent out to my baby sister. The stick on top of the boxes is a signed hockey stick by the 96 NY Islanders and the mirror on the kitchen table will be hanged below it. The lining closet is next to the bedroom and the food cupboard is on the left.

THE BEDROOM:
The right side of the bedroom
Image
The bed is queen sized with 500 threads sheets, since it’s the summer figure I should wait for a higher thread count when it gets a little colder. The shelf in the far right is my dresser and the hamper is to the left to it.

The night table is holding the light, above it is a shelf holding a stuff polar bear that my grandma gave me when I was 3 and a polar bear figure that my Ma gave me before she passed away. Yes, that’s a 20 inch flat screen with a cable box on top of a TV tray close to the closet. Don’t know where I should put it or what to put it on, since I’m going to connect a DVD player on it.

THE LIVING ROOM
The right side

The framed poster is black and white pencil drawings of some of the greatest hip-hop artist. The book case in the far corner is black on top of it is a book of polar bears standing with a coco-cola polar bear. The closet you see has my suits, ties, irons, and mini steam cleaner.

The back of the living room

The white end table is also a has 2 draws. The couch is a futon and the picture to the far left is another poster frame of hip-hop artist drawn with a pencil. The TV tray is holding a fan and behind it is the AC. For the time being the cooler is a ghetto coffee table until I find a black coffee table I like for a reasonable price.

The rest of the left side and the front

The table you see is my desk with pictures of Atlanta Braves greats Greg Maddox and Chipper Jones. To the left of it that you don’t see is a polar bear calendar. To the right of the table is a DVD/PS3 game shelves and a small white trash can. The TV is a 47 inch flat screen and below it is a metal shelf with my PS3 and cable box. The piece of wood is a shelf I didn’t put up yet, need to get some screws that can go into beams. Then use that metal shelves and use that for my TV set up in the bedroom.

Hope this gives you an idea how I set my place up and help you out when you take a look at my place. Again if you guys need more pics let me know.

Looks Good man!

The black and white Pic is a cool conversation piece and it stuck out when I was looking at your pics. Nice Flat screens! What do you have for seating set up to look at the big one? Couch? Futon? Chairs? etc.

And if that is a duvet cover on your bed....I'm pretty sure I have the exact same one! LOL

EDIT: Just saw the couch, I'm assuming that is pointing at the TV, I would center the couch in that space and put the white stand on the other side, it looks kinda goofy with is shoved to the side like that. Other than that, I like it!

Its my futon that I slept on in my old studio. Didn't see the point of going out to buy a couch when I could use the futon you know. I see your point on moving the white stand on the other side of it. Will do that tomorrow. Think it is, there was a sell going on a Bed Bath and Beyond and took advantage of it. Got to black and white pics the one that stuck out and another one to the left of the futon. Thanks for your help man, it came in handy. There is still some minor details that I need to do like hanging up the hockey stick, buying a new lamp, black coffee table and moving the white thing to the other side to balance it out. It was a lot of work, but chilling here on the comp and taking a look at I feel good about. Now it's time to get out in the field more and star bring girls back to it. Thanks for the advice man it came in handy.

Futons are all good bro! I'd have that sucker far enough away from the back wall that you can flop it into a bed real quick for some cozy movie times!

No problem with the white stand thing as far as looks, I just think the room will look more balanced with it on the other side.

Also, I'm assuming that is a book case on the other side???? If it's a book case include some cool interesting books that you can DHV with, or if its just a display case type of thing with pictures and such, include DHV items in there as well. That way when the chick is sitting on the futon, she'll have some cool shit to look at (Other than you) that you can go into some DHV stories about!

Glad I could help a little bro!
