My look/looks please be brutally honest.

Post by kosmos »

Don't sugar coat it I have a good idea what the flaws are, these are what i'm wearing out currently, next week I should have the money to get one more entire outfit. The pants currently are brown and jeans, I think a good addition would be some solid black jeans or some solid black dress pants. (I have some dress pants that are black but they are highwater so pretty much unwearable atm)

ditch the brown pants. Maybe try jeans witha wash.
Don't become dependent on a vest, if you wear a vest a lot, you need to get more clothes.
And if you're gonna wear nice shirts and a vest, switch out the dull black watch for a little more shiny one.

I have a pair of more or less washed jeans I thought it would be a bad clash, and I need a more shiny watch? well I'll get on it then. I don't personally like the brown pants myself I plan on replacing those with black.

It's just your watch looks almost like a tactical watch, it should be more congruent, if you're gonna dress up nice, wear a dress watch. Shoes match your belt, you shouldn't wear "peacocking" bracelets if your sleaves are gonna be down, don't be afraid to roll up your sleaves a bit.

The watch immediately jumps out. It doesn't fit.

The jeans don't fit you well. Too loose.

Your hair could stand to be more styled.

Trim your eyebrows.

Can't see what shoes you are wearing, but it can change the entire outfit.

Try a ring or two.

Not crazy about the hat, but if you like it, go for it.

If you haven't read it, read NSM's fashion article:

Is that a microscope and set of swords in the background? Might want to think about your place and how to use it to DHV you.

As said, ditch the brown pants. Or at least don't combine with a black vest with a purple shirt.

I think the last two pictures are the best, due to loosing the shirt under the dress shirt, the awesome hat, and your smile. You look very approachable and friendly.
In terms of game, even I would be like, shit, this guy knows what he is doing.

HOWEVER, the absolute, biggest thing I cannot see, which is the make or break point, is your shoes. What kind of shoes are you wearing? Because if it is sneakers, imma have to choke a bitc....you know.

Any sort of black/dark dress show is acceptable and 100% recommended in all situations. Shoe, half boot, full boot, pointy toe, square toe, normal round toe, whatever.

Three things that get attention, in my experience, on a regular basis of going out, in order of most compliments to least:

1) Shoes
2) Skinny tie (simply because it "pops" out) - in your case, your vest would go here.
3) Fedora / hat
4) Hair style

Looks good. I would try on a darker pair of jeans, just to see how it looks.
Do you have any other styles you want to show us, without the dress shirt/vest. Or a new combination?

That's just a fake display of chinese swords. I've actually taken a summer course on Iaido, so I have a real sword somewhere else in my room, and yes that is a microscope. But my main focus in the past was Aikido, Iaido is supportive of Aikido, (aikido was developed to handle anyone even if they are using a sword and Iaido is using a sword so it helps to know both)

Now are those DHV or DHL in your opinion? (I know my shit on both :P)

I agree on the jeans (funny thing is they are really new and when I bought them it was because my old pair were too big and they were almost too small, now I'm going to need to buy new pants again... (losing weight is expensive)

I was recently thinking about a ring, now the question is should I get my ear pierced? I used to have it way back years ago but it sealed up, I wouldn't mind getting it fixed again. Just an idea what are your thoughts?

So brown pants purple shirt work but no vest? But if I get some black slacks/jeans maybe keep the vest? (just thinking about ways to expand the looks with fewer articles of clothing for the moment.

And some people say the hat doesn't fit me and some people say it doesn't I have never in my life had more mixed reviews of anything like I have this hat, however the negs have always been when I'm asking and the compliments have always been unprovoked, but in either case it wont work for summer. But if I do say so myself it looks amazing with the vest.

The shoe and I'm getting a lot on this apparently, well it's not so much a sneaker as a dress sneaker.. I use it for work as well and it passes for a work shoe (doesn't say much but I think it's not terrible).

So yeah it's a sneaker that kind of looks like a dress shoe.

Oh also, I'm going to be spending a large amount of time at the school tomorrow, not just because I have classes, but because I'm going to be going for day 4 of the stylelife challenge as well. So based on what we've discussed what should I go with?

(and still waiting for an opinion on the whole earing thing), (actually kind of getting intrested in it, looking for anyone to say it's a terrible idea cus if it is I certainly don't want to waste the money on it lol.)
