Looking into taking BJJ and there's a couple different schools in Winnipeg. One Gracie Humaita school, a Gracie jiu jitsu school, two 10th planet BBJ schools and a couple others that are mma /bbj schools.

What should I look for in a good school?

one that is close to you, and has a cool vibe -once you go in and try a few out

then look at price

once you have been into it for a bit, then you could make the choice to drive further away for another school- but for now would just focus on how much you like it and ease of attending regularly

:D

Went to the 10th planet place. Like the vibe a lot better that the Gracie Humaita place. Everyone seemed chill. They were really helpful and humble. Seemed like there were a lot more big egos at the Gracie place.

Also like the no GI environment. And there seems to be more emphasis on protecting your head from hits.

Price is $75 a month vs $115 and a year commitment. Don't want to lock in as my schedule is pretty random.

Only downside is the gym is a concrete grotto in the worst neighborhood in the city. Guess you should never judge a book by its cover :)
