I always wanted a HK MP5SD. Unfortunately they do not make semi-auto 9mm versions for civilians. So I figured this was the next best thing:)


It is a 22lr replica made by Carl Walther company in Germany. It looks almost identical to the HK MP5SD. Fun little gun that is pretty accurate:)

What are you doing with the squirrels you kill?

After gutting and skinning put in salt water, let it sit 1-2 days in fridge. That draws blood out, and gets rid of some of the gamey taste.
Boil for about an hour. At this point meat will fall off the bone. I take the squirrels out, pick meat off the bones. Then add canned tomato, potato, chopped carrots, sliced celery, you can add more or less ingredients depending on what you like. Put boneless meat in with stew, let it simmer another hour and it is ready.
Basically taste just like dark turkey meat in my opinion. Same texture also. My grandmother would not try it, thinks it is gross. But she does not eat deer meat either. I love deer meat.

I have decided this gun was fun, but not very functional as a squirrel gun. It shoots great, everything was fine, it is just rather heavy and awkward to carry in the woods for any length of time. I sold it to gun store.

I now plan to get a nice, light, .22lr ruger to use in the future.

.22lr ruger is absolutely great! i am not being biased but anything about ruger is really awesome no doubt about it!

I agree. This one was a cool mp5 replica. My Ruger is much lighter and better balanced for smal game though.

It was a fun gun, just not very practical for carrying all day in woods, I sold it a few months ago.

Either my uncle's 100 acres, and/or one of the 2 WMA properties in the area.
Small game season is open most of the winter with a few weeks open to deer hunters.
