Hey Ice,

I’m having a lot of trouble being interesting over text. It seems that I do well when I meet the girl in person or talk on the phone, but there is just something about text where my interaction dies.

I have a routine/stack that I use, and it lands decently well (that’s another topic). However, when I do it over text, it dies. I just don’t have enough characters to do my DHV’s or crack jokes without sending out gigantic texts compared to her short ones. I recently met a couple of girls that don't want to (the other one can't because of working evenings) talk on the phone, text only....

When I go to short texts, I’m reduced to essentially one-liners and cocky jokes. It’s funny for a bit, but goes nowhere.

Could you please give me some more info on what the interaction is supposed to look like. I have seen the flow chart that is going around, but I am more interested in the details of the actual texting and what I am trying to achieve.

I also have a question about some girl that I am currently texting with. I picked up a cute redhead at the mall the other day, a solid HB8, and I would put her age at around 18-21. I am 30, but would like to get with a younger girl for various reasons...

Anyway, the texting has been awkward, but I slowly progressed with my routine. I opened her with christmas shopping in real life, she had to run, so we kept going via text. Then I transitioned to wine, wine tasting, wine glasses, etc. This stuff works well on women in their mid 20's, but she gives me this message:

Wow, that's intense! Wine Tasting? SO Classy! I've never been to one before because I don't really drink, although that sounds very upscale so I hope you enjoyed yourself haha. How old are you btw?"

OK, so there is definitely a possibility she is still 17 (she definitely looks 20 though). EDIT*** Legal drinking age is 18 where I live*** How can I play this age thing off so she doesn't lose interest.

I was considering doing this, but I'd like your opinion
ME: I'm 52, but I look young for my age lol. Kidding. How old are you, 20?
HER: blah blah I'm 19 blah blah
ME: It's ok that you'e 19, I love younger girls, they tend to have such awesome personalities. I guess I'll just have to show you some of the cool bars downtown I'm 30 btw.

How would you handle this?

Would be good to post your txt convo so we have a better of idea as to where you're at


Remember that in any conversation, it's a dance - not a straight routine

I'd stay away from txting too much and having long convo's over txt

Ask yourself what your intent/purpose is in sending that txt

For me it's to set the next date up, or to sexualize then set date up



If you're meeting girls in person, ideally you would have already done all that (dhv'd, push/pull, qualified, seed date, asked what schedule is like), then date close if possible. I txt them my name when I # close in field. Next text is date close.

What part specifically are you asking about - that I would handle?

I agree, and that works well with women that I have a chance to meet in person and then text/call, or women I can text to get a call, and on the call do my routine then get the date. In both of these cases, I can do my routine orally.

A couple of these girls are forcing me to do Qualification/Comfort via text.

From your previous response, would it be safe to say that it can't really be done? Text is mainly for jokes, sexualization, and short banter. The real meat and potatos has to be done by talking...

How would you handle this age discrepancy thing without freaking her out. She might accept, she might not, but what is the ideal way to approach it so she doesn't immediately say I'm too old for her.

Let's say with this one girl, she's a nurse and works evening shifts 6 days a week. We were supposed to get together on her free night but something came up. Talking to her on match.com was easy. Then we move to text (can't call though, I work days).

I'm trying to build some comfort and maybe qualify lightly...

HER: Hey, christmas shopping is going alright. I'm actually at the mall right now. How's your day going?

ME: It's going good so far. I was at the mall yesterday, so many little kids I didn't know if it was a mall or a daycare. I was looking for those fancy wine glasses. Is it busy right now?

HER: No it's not too bad at all. Best time is to come on a weekday.

ME: Yeah, sounds like it. I guess working evenings defintely has its advantages. Who are you shopping for?

HEr: My Mom. I have the day off today. I rotate between day and night shifts.

ME:Nice we're going to do a secret santa this year as well, I've just got to get around to organizing the name draw. Going back to BC for christmas break?


This is an easy conversation in real life, but extremely cumbersome by text with 20 minute gaps between messages. Unfortunately, I can't call her and I didn't get into comfort online.
