DJNinja & Ice: T-Day Coaching Thread moved to Sunday - DONE

Post by DJNinja »

It's Thanksgiving! No Live Coaching Thread tonight.

If you're spending it with family, then have a fun time enjoying their company, eating & drinking until you puke, enjoying all of the football games, and feeling thankful for what you have.

If you're spending it away from them (e.g., in college, at work, etc.), go in-field and hit on girls!

If you're going Black Friday shopping this weekend, hit on girls while you're waiting in line!

Ice & I will be back on SUNDAY for a very special Coaching Thread where we're going to ask you what are the three things that you are most thankful for.

Sunday, Dec 1, 9pm EST/7pm BRAVO/6pm PST/4pm HAWAII

See you then!

I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving Day, and an equally fun and productive Black Friday weekend.

In the spirit of Thanksgiving, what three things are you most thankful for? And why?

This hopefully will give you some perspective on just how fortunate you are and how awesome your life really is! Coming from a place of gratitude helps you to better appreciate what you have and to go after the things that you want.

I'll be posting my list shortly :)

I am most grateful for

Living in Hawaii - I get sun almost every day of the year. The weather is generally nice, and the beaches are all within a 15 minute drive where ever I'm at.

Supportive friends, family, and mentors - from my real family, to my friends, to work colleagues, they all helped me get to where I'm at today. Special shout-out to Bravo, the brown belts, the advanced purple belts, my awesome co-host Ice, and my brothers from PX2 (Ice, Cinema, Moiser, Rockstar, and Rogue) who have helped me get pretty good in this particular thing of ours ;)

Finally, in terms of pickup, there's you guys! Without you coming here every week to ask questions, Bravo, Smoothcall, Ice, and I wouldn't be here. So THANK YOU. As much as we inspire you...you inspire us as well.

There's a lot of other people and things to be grateful for! So what are yours?

Hey guys- I seem to struggle with keeping my energy up at times. i see with a lot of guys that they are friendly with anyone and everyone. Personally saw this with my buddy during Thanksgiving he kept his energy up played with the kids and in the end fucked their mom after 7 hours of being friendly and high energy.. long story on top of this but regardless I could see it happening but at same time was like how does he do this for a few hours- I would be mentally exhausted.

I can get my energy up for an approach or for a couple hours but frankly when there is a football game on. I would rather everyone not talk to me and play with kids for a couple hours-- I don't think so...

So I am wondering what you guys do to keep your energy up?

I am grateful for

A. Learning pick up at such a young age. Bring only 20 and learning from Bravo,DJ, Bay, and the rest of the Bravohood guys, fucking blows my mind. It has opened so many doors in my life and legs ;)

B. Bravo's solid coaching and Queue for helping me get startes with the coaching: Queue helped me get in contact and for that I'll always ne grateful. Bravo's first call he tells me that I need to learn a martial art. Fast forward a year and a half later, I am vice president of my Ju jitsu club on campus.
That has opened doors for me to study and learn from my Sensei all from one phone call.

C. My scholarship to college. wont go into the details but basically have a full ride to my college. would not be able to afford the learning without it, grateful everyday to get such a high quality education at basically no cost.

Really great start to this thread DJ. Thanks!

For me, the short answer: 5-hour energy shots ;)

The long answer: I get like that too, especially if I'm coming off a really long night of approaches and nothing is clicking. Instead of being discouraged, I step outside for a breather, maybe find something light to eat (street tacos or similar fare near the bar/club, or "bar food" if the establishment is serving - sometimes it's simply that you're low on fuel and need a quick bite to fill the tank), and get into a conversation with someone simply to get into conversation to stay in state.

Or if it's at a club, I hit up the dancefloor to build up some energy again, especially if they're playing the music that I really like.

If I'm with some wings, I'll meet up with them, do a quick debrief to go over positives and to motivate each other back into state. (Now that you have Bay, this should be fun for you!)
