Re: stocking up
had a 700 LTR- loved it
Savage .308s are solid too- for price
but, hearing that everyone is going away from bolt guns, and going to AR platforms
.308 if you need it
otherwise heavy 556 rounds
that way same platform

Re: stocking up
I've been looking at this M1A1 SOCOM 2 308 rifle.
the one in the pic is going for 2500.
But I kind of have a hard on for this and have had one for a long long time.
.50BMG barrett 99
I know ammo is much much cheaper for the 308, but I can afford a small batch of maybe 300-400 rounds for the .50 bmg.
just got 500 FMJ .45 rounds
500 5.56 rounds
about to get 250 law enforcement 12gauge slugs and 25 rounds of 12 guage armour peircing slugs.

Re: stocking up
I was looking at 50s recently too!
Will have to think about it more.
The M1 is great. But think the LaRaue 308 ARs just out shot everything else. Including bolt guns.
And my bud who is a sniper trainer said that AR platform is way to go

Re: stocking up
So something along the lines of this?
This auction is for a DPMS LAR308 SASS precision rifle. The SASS has 18” fluted Teflon coated stainless steel bull barrel with DPMS brake, Magpul PRS stock, JP trigger, DPMS free float tube, and is chambered for 308 Win / 7.62 NATO. This SASS has been properly broken in, and I have always shot .6 to .9 MOA with it. It can easily smack a 9 “ gong at 600 yards . That is longest distance range I have found to shoot it. I have always used M118LR in it. I have upgraded the SASS with an Ergo grip, a Harris bipod swivel 6-9 inch with notched legs, and Bravo Company Manufacturing medium Mod 4 tactical latch. The SASS comes with 2 Magpul 20 round mags and 2 DPMS 10 round mags. Also included are the DPMS owner’s manual and DPMS cleaning kit. I always cleaned the SASS with a nylon coated rod and used a bore guide. The SASS has 210 rounds fired through it. The Mark IV 3-10 M3 front focal plane scope, stock bag, and Badger rings are not included. The rifle will be shipped in the original plastic Plano case inside a cardboard box. BE SURE THIS GUN IS LEGAL IN YOUR STATE BEFORE BIDDING! NO SALES TO CALIFORNIA, CONNECTICUT, HAWAII, MASSACHUSETTS, NEW JERSEY, OR NEW YORK OR ANYWHERE THIS IS NOT LEGAL TO OWN. Please look at all the pictures and ask any questions Before bidding. Shipping and insurance is $40.00 thru UPS ground . Funds and FFL need to be received within 7 days after auction closes or Item will be relisted and Neg Feedback will be received. The FFL needs to be sent via email. Payment shall be made with an USPS Money Order.
