Hey watsup guys...
I recently got back into boxing, training for maybe 2 months now? Anyway, I was curious as to who else here trains in Western Style Boxing, or follows the fights?

On a side note though - wow its been great for me to get back into.. Its helped me kick some pretty bad habits, lost 9kg so far, huge energy boots, and as a whole... Much more confident.. After a little over a month of training i was invited up into the Intermediate Classes (given the ability to spar and fight for the club), I was feeling great... And ironically when i was feeling at my peak of 'ME' one of my bosses approached me and offered me a supervisor role, entailing a significant payrise + perks.. I've been there 5 years and have only ever had 1 payrise mind you..

All of that has driven me much harder.. Im currently training 5/6 days a week atm, still a long way to go though lol.

So anyone else here train? Any good off day tips/routines? Any links to 'necessary' info/vids?

If anyone else here trains or is interested.. I'll post up a few good vid links from youtube for decent isolation training sessions.. :)

The best advice I could ever give a fighter coming up is to find the best coach there is in your area, and listen to him. Anybody can call themselves a coach, but very few are really good at what they do. Sounds like your having good results overall, keep at it!

Trained and competed for a little over ten years. I don't really have the time to dedicate myself to competing anymore but I periodically hit the gym to shake the ring rust off and give some of the kids a different sparring partner. I loved the training and everything to do with it. I owe a lot in my life to boxing. It taught me a lot about self discipline, how to apply myself, how to set a long term goal and achieve it. If I ever have kids, I will definitely get them into the sport so they have at least a few fights under their belt.
