Seduced an Apple Care Representative.

Last night I pulled a dumbass move and went swimming with my iphone in my back pocket.
Phone Destroyed.

So today went to apple to try to get a new phone even tho my warranty was expired and was still dripping water out of the screen....

Decided not to rely on sympathy, but on my friendliness, being funny about it, and sort of disqualifying the rep.

My basis of what I said was this.
(male rep by the way)
me:"Hey I already know that your probably gonna look at my phone and tell me I'm shit outta luck."
Rep: What's wrong?
me: Well last night I was at party and some douchebag pushed me in the pool, and now my phone is pretty much a shiny brick.
me: Also I'd like to file a complaint on false advertising, because there should be a 'Your about to get pushed in the pool by a douchebag app' and there is not. Nor a waterproofing app.
Rep:(Laughed)
Then I asked him why he didn't have an apple tattoo like 2 other guys in the store.
Rep: Blah blah (then went on to replacing my phone)

Lessons: By putting the frame that the status quo would have been to deny me a replacement it put him in a place where he could show his power and importance by going against the flow. If I would have made it about how he should appease the customer and I'm all important it would have made him probably feel small and point his ego into a place where denying me would be a show of his power.

Also smiling and being friendly/funny saved me $300+

Oh dude, I do this ALL the time.

I myself am a Representative for the phone industry, and all you get everyday about someone that fucked up there phone or something... they always bitch AT ME like its my problem that they broke there phone past warranty.

Yeah, if someone walked in and did what you did, deff would have done the same thing.

But, I've also done the same thing just being a friendly person to get my way. you really do get alot of free stuff by being a social artist!
