you've got your thinking a little backwards here i believe. don't think of hobbies that you have, and buy some sort of accessories that are based off of them. go deeper than that. find stylish accessories that can BECOME a part of you. example: i love baseball, and i'm a huge yankees fan. but the last thing i would do when going out to a club is put on yankees hats and pendants and rings. you find something that matches your spirit. the aikido one should be great. i've studied martial arts for years as well, so i know there is so much more than just learning how to punch and kick. there is mind and spirit involved. get some cool japanese stuff (which is very trendy right now), which can be related to your aikido training, but on a mental, spiritual, emotional level. stuff that looks trendy and cool and jumps out and grabs attention, but you need to have an awesome story behind it.kosmos wrote:NSM wrote:Good improvements so far man! I really want you to think about what KOA said about your accessories. Accessories (and your style in general) should be a way that you help to visually express things about you. If a girl comments on one of my accessories, I use it as a chance to DHV and talk about me.
Oh you like my cross? I got it at the Vatican and it was blessed by the last Pope. That was the most amazing trip of my life, especially since I'm big into art...
I was actually thinking about that, At a music store I know about they sell these keychain clips that hold 3 guitar/bass picks, I was thinking about buying one of those and turning it into my necklace(seeing as I play bass)
Now what the hell I can do about aikido or skating, I have no freaking idea, and I don't know that I wanna walk around with videogame/anime stuff lol, so I'm going to have a rough time finding accessories that help define my personality or relate to any DHV.
example: just say i was wearing ring with a yankees insignia carved into it (which i dont). here's too responses when a girl notices the ring:
BAD (DLV): yeah, i'm a huge yankees fan. i own so much yankees stuff. i love baseball.
GOOD (DHV): yeah, this ring is really special to me. i actually purchased it through a charity auction last time i was in new york city visiting some friends. i girl i used to date that now lives there is heavily involved with a charity to raise money for stem cell research, so i attended the event with her. i thought the ring was kind of cool, and of course the cause is important to me, so i big on it, and i won! but here's where it really got crazy. this was a pretty big and well publicized event that i was attending, so there were some celebrities in attendance as well, and when they announced me up on stage to pick up the ring i had just "won", guess who walked out and presented me with my ring? derek jeter himself. yeah. i grew up watching him, and he was always a favorite player of mine, so it really has a lot of meaning to me...anyways, this ring? yeah, i guess its ok...
