Re: Anyone Hunt?

Went deer hunting with my great uncle first day of season open. Within 5 minutes of the sun coming up, we'd filled our tags. :D

The conditions were perfect. Couldn't have had a better day.

We both had one shot kills through the heart, lungs, shoulder and out the other side. Hornady SST bullets are the BEST. Flat shooting, accurate, and they leave a massive wound channel. Found at least a gallons worth of internal bleeding when we dressed the deer in the field. The pails you see weren't really necessary lol.

We hung the meat to age for a week and it's really tender. My mouth is watering as I write this.

If you don't hunt, I'd highly recommend it. Find someone who's done it before and learn from them. I've really enjoyed spending time with my uncle and having him pass on his 50+ years of hunting, butchering, farm and life skills to me.
Who dares wins.

I love hunting. Love being out in the woods. My Uncle is about to go Turkey hunting. I prefer deer and squirrel hunting. Between my Uncle and I we got 3 deer in the freezer this year.
I would have another buck if it were not for the 6 point rule in our County. Next year that buck should be legal though.
