Aimpoint is generally better for CQB and urban. Acog, leupold cqt, and other magnifiers are better for long distance/war.
I've done more police style training, and Fame has clearly done more military- and was in war.
So different objections.
If I was planning on fighting like you did, Acog would have been one of the few at top of my list.

I like the Acog with the red dot on top, because it's good for close range, but I really just like the ACOG's reticle(the one with the chevron anyway), it has range lines with the numbers on it, I imagine with a 3x magnifier and red dot you kind of just have to guess and aim higher for ranged targets.
