About fighting this battery case

Post by Ghettoguru »

What's up folks!

Crazy stuff went down last night. Long story short I work security/bellman at a hotel. A customer walked into the lobby to complain of a bum yelling obscenities and talking shit about me on our property. I've had to call cops on him in the recent past because he wouldn't leave the property. So ever since he's had heavy resentment towards me, calling me names and saying shit I never acknowledged.

Back to what happened last night: I ran into him into the parking lot and told him to leave. He stood his ground.... started talking smack again, calling me names, etc... Saying he would fight me but didn't want to go to jail. I was like "ok cool we're calling the cops" He skated past me over to the lobby to "complain" and cuss out the front desk girl. I finally caught up to him right after he exited the lobby. Right as we were crossing paths, he taunted me and lunged himself into my personal space (he had a skateboard in his hand). Instinctively, I leaned over to the side then gave him one clean hit on the jaw. He freaked out like a little girl looking around at bystanders for sympathy, he spat blood at the lobby door then called the cops.

At this point it's a civil case and the hotel can't really do anything about it. My manager informed me that the bum wants to charge me with battery which could be a felony. But then i could lawyer up and fight back with him trying to "incite a fight"?? The only camera present on the hotel property is in the lobby itself so nothing was captured on tape. The cops did take get a witness statement which essentially states that the bum was the one who fucked up.
Advice would be greatly be appreciated
