Instead of buying a watch worth 225 dollars, Someone should sign up for a coaching call.

Watches, accessories, all that stuff - mean more when you have a story behind it - and can use it as a DHV
I wouldn't get something just because girls would recognize it. Good way to attract gd
Also some people get turned off by a guy that only gets brand name things
Look at what value you bring v. what stuff you wear
is where I'm at now
Perfect to add:
I'm a fan of watches, but didn't buy one for years. Randomly while shopping found one that stood out, reasonably priced and fit perfectly with my personality, style, who I am as a person, and coincided with a strong DHV life event, easy conversation flow.
I think though,...if you do go into buying anything be it watch or car or whatever with the intent that you're trying to impress a girl, you might convey that instead and will be found to be a sign of insecurity and desperation.
But shop around, sample, go online, put one on and see how it feels, test it out, get another opinion, and if YOU develop a connection with it. It represents what you truly convey.
There are some bad ass watches out there, have fun
If you're alive today, then you have a 100% success rate over anything that has tried to break you.

Re: Watches & Shoes
I recently bought an Omega Seamaster as a 30th birthday present to myself.
A girl I've been seeing for the last couple of years has been trying to convince me to purchase a "nice" watch for a long time. She works in a jewellers, and even offered to buy the watch using her discount.
I decided to take her up on her offer, because my 30th birthday coming, because of the discount and because if I ever got into financial trouble abroad, I could cash the watch in and get myself a flight home! I can't take credit for the last reason, I am 99% sure Bravo gave me the idea!
I don't usually wear a watch, but I've noticed a lot of people looking at it, and even had a couple of compliments since I started wearing it. I even got pulled aside at airport security, the guy asked me about the watch and how much I'd paid for it... pretty weird. I told him it was a fake.
It's occurred to me that I may have increased the risk of being mugged, usually when traveling, I go out of my way to keep a low profile when I think the situation calls for it. I figure I should get some decent insurance ASAP.

Re: Watches & Shoes
Something Bravo said that has always stuck with me regarding watches (and other accessories) is to find one that represents you and your style.. something you can make your own. If that's not even close to what you said, it's how I took it.
There is a lot of copy-catting in PUA and initially before hearing that I thought I had to spent a lot of money on a watch to get a watch like other guys here have. Thinking more money = better for DHV and PUA was poor thinking on my part.
At the time I didn't even have a watch and hadn't worn one in many years. After some deep reflection I figured out what was best to represent me. Something simple, dependable, and not so expensive I would worry about scratching it up or drawing extra attention to myself to get robbed. I've also gotten more into self reliance which ties into dependable. Long story short, I went with a $100 solar powered, Japanese-quartz, analog style, with a canvas OD green band.
No winding needed, accurate enough you don't have to worry about it falling behind, no batteries needed ever. Perfect for someone like me who likes simple and dependable.
Lead into my self reliance hobbies and skills.

My pocket watch always gets comments. Roughly $5 with free shipping on Amazon. A whole class of K-3 told me it looked really cool, so it passed the ultimate of coolness tests.

Re: Watches & Shoes
I have 2 watches
Everyday G-Shock that will survive anything. Mountain biking, camping, hiking etc. cheap, comfortable and durable. Plus easy clean (I work in healthcare)
And a Guess watch I got in Vegas. I'm not really a gambler but when in Vegas I decided to have some fun, ended up winning about $250. Some of which I used to buy the watch. Makes a nice DHV travel story about how I beat the house and for a low cost watch it looks pretty classy
One day plan to buy a Rolex/Omega but only when I have a lot more money than I need
