Need to work on your patter

Are you just a magician, or a pick up artist magician (what my wingman and I use to call PUMA)

Why NOT in corporate kino in the trick?

Instead of having the card be on the table under the box, have a girl hold or hide on her person- like in her bra

The card you then you have prepared to... Switch. Why that card. Why not the queen of hearts? A card that has meaning and one you can play/ cold read with.

Your reveal feels more cheesy than esoteric. You want the girl (or subject) to FEEL it when it happens, and you want them to reveal it themselves.

Make sense?

Maybe I'll vid the way I use to do it and put here to show the difference.

But my advice should get you thinking. :)
Respectfully,
Bravo

Def agree with Bravo about your patter. The way you present your trick will def have an impact on how strongthe effect is in the end and I felt it could def be improved.

A good example is Bill Malone's Sam the Bellhop trick(worth a watch on youtube btw).

Overall not a bad trick, simple ACR with a transpo finish.

If you want to add more ACR sequences, you can def incorporate more kino. One example that I used to do is on the last ACR I would have the card on my right hand, deck in left, then I would tell her to make a sandwich between my right hand. Shake the deck on top of the sandwiched hands and the card appears on top of the deck again, replaced by a diff card in the sandwich. It's just an example, but when you're performing you normally have a lot of control of the audience so play off that.

Need to work on your patter
Hey Bravo,thanks for dropping in!

Oh I know!I was telling my "magician" brother that this morning before I logged on.I can do all my ricks with my eyes close ,but when the camera is one i fuck up so much, get so nervous and it shows, and i need to work on being about to multi-task..patter and magic,i couldn't agree more, its a work in progress, its not as bad when im no being filmed, its weird
Are you just a magician, or a pick up artist magician (what my wingman and I use to call PUMA)
Not to promote anybody but i seen that guy brad jackson that does that puma thing . I started magic and pua at the same time and i am cautious of labeling myself due to the fact and fear of being one dimensional ,if that makes sense?
Why NOT in corporate kino in the trick?
Normally I would, and its natural to kino while doing magic, but I had no spectators, was only 2 people home,me and HBblack
Instead of having the card be on the table under the box, have a girl hold or hide on her person- like in her bra
Like i said didn't have no spectators but i agree
The card you then you have prepared to... Switch. Why that card. Why not the queen of hearts? A card that has meaning and one you can play/ cold read with.

I usually pick MY favorite cards, because in the end I started magic for myself, but I understand your POV
Your reveal feels more cheesy than esoteric. You want the girl (or subject) to FEEL it when it happens, and you want them to reveal it themselves.
I was kinda going for cheessy,it was a simple simple trick as you know, and I wasn't trying to get to deep with it,and i agree about the reveal but like I said B,had no spectators so you gotta do what you can with what you got

the guy I tag on FB in the vid,He is a very good upcoming 16y/o magician, and we had a gentlemen bet to post magic vids and tag each other

Make sense?
no dout,I know and see what your saying,I also am aware of these things, just its a little weird when you dont have someones to interact with on cam
Maybe I'll vid the way I use to do it and put here to show the difference.
Defiantly,whatcha waiting on?

But my advice should get you thinking. :)[/quote]

Question for people that seen my vid..OMG look how bad my receding hairline is getting..the question is to shave the head or get a hair cut

Thank you for dropping in man,and i agree.Bill Malone is a beast,I tourrented all his stuff
the tricks i normally do are by Adam Wilber,Justin miller,Daniel Madison

And Like i said to bravo,I didnt have any spectators and to ME its weird just being on cam trying to do a trick without someones there to interact with,if you have tips for that then share

I was going to go into a card 2 pocket routine ,but I was wearing skinny jeans,my pockets were really tight and during practice it looked way to sketchy on how long it would have took me to do that move

A routine i normally do is called my "heart breaker",2 exactly the same tricks, back to back(this is a no no in magic, but it works) but performed differently, always gets a make out close

How easy is this trick to learn and perform? Is the card under the box done with two identical cards in the deck? I got the rest of it after a couple views. Cool trick, by the way! And I like your sense of flare with the card shuffles and stuff. Not sure what the technical terms are.

When performing for a camera, do tricks that look better on camera, like the snap change, impossible change. Just about any color change is good for the camera, also card manipulations are pretty on camera too.

I noticed you said heartbreaker routine, instantly i think of Jarek(if I'm right to assume you got it from him, then I suggest you stop learning from him for your benefit).

52Kards is a site that's currently down, but when they get back up check em out. They have very good informative posts regarding performances and magic in general. Magic Cafe is another good source, bunch of great magicians are on there, like JM and Wayne Houchin.

Also 52kards on youtube is one of the few tutorial places I would suggest seeing. Avoid Mismag and disturbreality if you can.

Besides the resources I've named, the best way to refine your patter and audience management skill is to just practice it. You have to learn the tricks inside and out because wherever your eyes look is where the audience is going to look.

If you want, I'd be willing to skype with you and help with your patter. I can go more in detail about my patter so you can get a better idea.
