Back to training

Post by Xerces »

This is an old compilation I did with a flip camera when I got tired of trying to tell people what kettlebells are. Also was fun to make.

I have heard a lot of excuses when it comes to fitness.

Money, time, having energy after work and basically being a pussy.

You don't need a gym membership or equipment. If you have to lift something you can make a 100lb sand bag for less than $20. Also Craigslist is pretty awesome for cheap gear. Not to mention body weight exercises which are totally free.

If you don't know anything and are stuck you can look stuff up online. Or post here and I will help.

Keep in mind I'm not a regular "certified" trainer. I have a level one cert in kettlebells and have done mma since 2002. The stuff I like is basically cave man training and other things from Ross Enamit.

In short it could be considered inaccurate by some. But the guy who has you in mount does not give a fuck what your body fat percentage is, if you have luscious abs or if you eat a pure paleo diet or not. This is about pushing yourself and kicking ass. Not the hippest new gym gear or hyped workout gadget.

I have over trained, under trained, gotten fat, gotten lean and bulked up. Not to mention almost killing myself cutting over 20lbs for a title fight incorrectly and being hospitalized.

In short I'm doing this for fun and to help in another area I am good at.

Let's keep this thread helpful and not this training modality vs. XYZ. I would rather people spent the time that they took to argue it and did some push ups or something.

Will continue to add some vids and make some new ones.

I found this really helpful. I haven't incorporated kettle balls into my workouts and that will be changing quickly.

Funny, but I've heard a lot of the same when it comes to pickup ;)

Thanks for making this thread, I enjoyed the video, can't wait to see more!

burpee's are fun! I made a video a while back ago I forgot about, was testing my new gopro

Kettlebell workouts suck (in the good way). But man...Burpees will destroy anyone.

Fame is that an outdoor gym?? Pretty cool.

SD, Kettlebell's are fucking wicked. They really are a one stop shop for all things when it come to supplemental training. I add other things because I like to not because they are needed. Look up Michael Skogg's stuff if you want teh best instructional's ever. He was my coach and sponsored me for a year.

Ninja, I have heard a ton of PU excuses as well. Didn't feel the need to mention here because I think my responses to posts kind of speak for themselves ;)

More vids on the way and I was talking to Prime about doing some social freedom vids as well.

Yeah it's right by my house, I go there to do a little pre workout sometimes because my gym has shitty pull up bars.

Kettlebells are good, I worked with them 10 yrs ago when nobody knew what they were. A dumbbell can be substituted though for much lower cost if need be. One arm snatches are brutal. At one time they were used for the secret service pt test.
