How to get a GOLD NAME (and support the site)

This idea came to me a few weeks ago, I bounced it off the guys at the forum meet up at dinner.

I was talking to the hosting company about backing up the forum, I was a member of another really cool forum (about guns and knives) and there was a HUGE crash and they lost years of posts, including a lot by one of the awesome members who had since passed away. It really sucked.

So when learning how to back this forum up, online and offline, and if I ever need the host to recover something on their end, they will charge hundreds. So decided to move forward on this.

also since this is new, guys who become GOLD NAMER's, if you notice anything is off after the switch, like missing functionality, please PM me details.

updating original post-

tried a few different ways to track these, best way I can come up with (with what I know how to do)

is add the day you donated to my google calendar 1 year from now.

(and I may have sent it to 3 of you guys twice)

not spamming you, consider it your confirmation email, and 2 weeks before the 1 year mark it should email you to let you know that 1year is coming up

just want to track correctly, make it automated (some of it at least) and also easy to ignore if you want and do not want to donate again- everyone who knows me knows I am never pushy.
